Alyssa Costantino

Alyssa Costantino has joined the Hofstra Women’s Lacrosse coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach, Head Coach Shannon Smith announced today. "We are thrilled to announce another great addition to our staff in Alyssa Costantino," commented Smith. "Alyssa has played collegiately at the highest level and her strong knowledge of the goalie position will be an asset to our program."

Costantino graduated from Syracuse in 2014 after playing goalkeeper for four years for the Orange women’s lacrosse team. A two-year captain, Costantino helped the team to three Final Four appearances, including appearances in the National Championship in 2012 and 2014 and a BIG EAST championship in 2013. She started all 23 games as a sophomore, earning All-Northeast Region First Team and All-BIG EAST Second Team honors.

The West Islip, New York, native was also successful in the classroom at Syracuse, earning a spot on the ACC Honor Roll in the spring of 2014 in addition to being a three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and a four-time Syracuse Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection.

Costantino served as a coach of the West Islip Girls’ Lacrosse Travel Teams in the summers of 2013 and 2014, coaching fifth and seventh graders in tournaments across Long Island. In March 2015, she began as the West Islip Udall Middle School Girls’ Lacrosse Assistant Coach, spending five or six days a week at practice with the seventh and eighth graders.

Away from lacrosse, Costantino served as an intern in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in the summer of 2015. She graduated from Syracuse with a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences.
